There is some reason to think there was a plot to assassinate Pence, since he wasn't 'coming through.' He could then be replaced with an even more reliable person. One of the offspring, perhaps.

I think that's a real stretch, since the Senate would have to confirm a new VP and might well take Pence's assassination amiss. On the other hand, who knows what logic festers in Trump's head?

No, I said that the Senate might take Pence's assassination amiss and that it could therefore backfire in purpose. Sorry if I wasn't clear.
