You trying to butter me up?
I did say that I probably could make something, not that I have- just in case BB's on the phone to his buddys at the Bureau already.
I have seen some potatoe launchers, starter fluid powered!
Surgical tubing? To hell with that, I'm talking UAVs. Yew must be one o' those civil engineers!
It's not that difficult to build a firearm, they've been doing it in Afghanistan for years.

I remember seeing a picture of a tribesman drilling out the frame of a DA revolver. He was holding the frame with his feet and his "drill" was a bow and arrow type device.

Bob's a gay deceiver

I saw a hairspray powered spud launcher put one over a 8 lane highway with a wide center berm.

Agreed that you can kill someone with a hammer or knife, just not at quite the same distance as with a 1911 .45 calibre.

While doing some consulting work with ABB I discovered that there is an electrical parts manufacturer named TANSTAAFL.

TANSTAAFL= there ain't no such thing as a free lunch. Sci Fi nut here.

Gay Deceiver was the name given to the car (sub-orbital IIRC) of the main character in Heinlein's 'Number of the Beast'. A helluva fun book if you haven't read it! Good on ya Pete!

I don't read him much anymore, his mores on sex are, um, interesting

But for the song 'The Green Hills Of Earth' he still deserves a place

He did examine Oedipus motivations down some "interesting" twists and turns.
To each their own, I say. I'm much "more" pedestrian in my own fantasy life. I'm sure his observations on government and society were even more radical in his day. McCarthy would have had some uncomfortable moments if he took the time to read Methuselahs Children, I'm sure.
