Watched "7 Days in May", 1964, with Kirk Douglas.

Excellent, excellent flick.

Check it out; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sFj7b1c60U

Oh your welcome .....anyone who remembers Catch-22 is cool in my book.
I read it in 1981. Seem like Heller could not write anything else quite as good as that one.

And the old man was right.

While I've forgotten most of it, I still remember the old Eyetie, who, as you pointed out, simply cheered for whoever was winning at the moment, knowing that they would soon be gone...just like everyone else.

And the pilot who crashed into the sea on every sortie. How was he described, "He could make anything or fix anything, talents which guaranteed that he would be poor for the rest of his life"?

And Yossarian.

I still tell people that I feel like Yossarian, walking backwards through life with a .45 strapped to my hip...to prevent people form sneaking up behind me.

I should have learned from that book as opposed to relating to it.

But I was always jaded, even when I was a kid.

Romney reminds me of Milo, the consumate American capitalist doing all sorts of dirty, disgaceful things; A slick talking snake, wheeling and dealing with the enemy, bombing his own base, etc., etc...... and always walking away from his own colossal shitpile smelling like a rose........Because he made his friends and flunkies rich in the process.

Ya gotta love it!

I particularly liked the deal with the eggs. Talk about wheeling and dealing.
