FDR "appeased" who?
I've heard of the notion that he "appeased" American Communists for fear of a violent revolution. It's true that they were quite active in the 1920s and '30s. As I was told, the New Deal was a way of empowering the workers to stand up for themselves while leaving capitalist enterprise in place. I'm guessing you see ths as "appeasement"?
But this begs the question; Why would Communists have the ear of so many Americans in that era? If things were so wonderful for the average American workin' stiff, why would there be revolution on his mind in the first place?
Answer; Because things weren't really so great for them.
As Pop said; "Sun up to sundown , two bits a day and a hot lunch.....if you're lucky." (His first job was at a logging camp in northern Minnesota at age 14, 1931.)
And you guys want to take us back?
Fuck that.
