Frank really would appreciate what happened in a sort of zappaesque manner to this Barking Monster thread. It would make him smile for sure.

I think good turns back evil, and that battle begins within each of us. For me, what happened in Cambodia is scarier than Nazi Germany. ISIS is scarier still.

Very true Rob, but they were not yet soldiers on "The night of broken glass". Soldiers did not come till years later. They ( the German people ) followed him blindingly in to the darkness.

Does this mean they should not be allowed to read the book ? No, not in my opinion. I feel that hiding the past does not allow it to be remembered..

A lady friend in Nurnberg told me that they simply let the place where he held all those big rallies go to ruin, rather than spend the money to demolish it, She said that they thought that would be more of an insult to his name. Poor Ruthild she and her friend were killed on the autobahn.

As an aside, mind blowing to me: AC/DC is playing there in a month...

Who knows how much additional resource went into pulverizing these edifices after what went into building them. Some were certainly a danger as derelicts and should have come down, others imo a waste of resources.

Just one more reason for me to dislike that band.

At that exact venue, the 'Zeppelinfeld?'

There are a number of venues around Nurnberg. In particular the never-finished 'Kongresshalle," a sort-of half-Colosseum replica that was supposed to be roofed when finished, is used as a rock venue I understand.
