Yet another excuse for TC: he's just entertainment. As if slapping that label on him negates all effects.

BTW what was Faux News response to a case against TC.
My old head cannot remember but I think the line was...TC's production should not be taken seriously.
Isn't that what righties do when confronted with obvious crap "Well, everybody else is doing it too!"

The judge overseeing TC's libel case wrote: "Fox persuasively argues, that given Mr. Carlson's reputation, any reasonable viewer 'arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism' about the statements he makes."
Reasonable viewers would not describe the overwhelming majority of TC's fans. They take his blathering's as gospel.
Faux had to argue that. If Carlson got successfully sued for libel it would be open season on their entire lineup of evening "entertainers".

TC wrapping his commentary in comedy? Suurrre that's what Tucker's fans say every night. That TC, he sure is a funny guy.
D, were you dropped on your head as a child?

To be delicate, the highlighted part of your post is simply not true.

The lies spread by Tucker and other Fox personalities are harmful to people and our country.

You seem to think this is a big joke.

The world of politics is a world of comedy.

One Zelensky even carried it to another level...he is a comedian who became president. Take a look at some of the main stream politicians. One is so disheveled his appearance induced laughter. Check their pronouncements.
Can one react with a straight face?

TC's schtick is to induce ridicule/laughter by playing on glaring contradictions. People tune in because they enjoy the spectacle especially relating to politicians.

BTW TC's case had precedent in that of Rachel Maddow.
His lawyers used similar arguments employed earlier by Maddow's lawyers.

That was my first thought too, Mark. There is no way Tuckles the Klown reps anything mainstream or otherwise. He's a modern day Axis Annie.

Got any linkage to that wild assertion about Doc Maddow?

Based on Wiki, thinking she's a news show talking head entertainer. Italics from article. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachel_Maddow

Asked about her political views by the Valley Advocate, Maddow replied, "I'm undoubtedly a liberal, which means that I'm in almost total agreement with the Eisenhower-era Republican Party platform."

Makes me a liberal too.

A Newsweek profile said, "At her best, Maddow debates ideological opponents with civility and persistence ... but for all her eloquence, she can get so wound up ripping Republicans that she sounds like another smug cable partisan."The Baltimore Sun critic David Zurawik accused Maddow of acting like "a lockstep party member".The editors of The New Republic similarly criticized her – naming her among the "most over-rated thinkers" of 2011, they called her program "a textbook example of the intellectual limitations of a perfectly settled perspective".

You must be tuning in to an entirely different TC than the rest of us see. Or at the very least viewing him through a totally different lens.
