Conventional wars between superpowers are a thing of the past. There will still be smaller proxy wars, to be sure, but a full-blown conflict between superpowers ain't gonna happen.

Not a full-blown conventional conflict, no. It would go nuclear and then be over fast, in one of two ways. Either both sides would decide stopping was a great idea, or one or both would take too much damage to continue.
