I just love Arizona/New Mexico. I could live there. But the missus has issues. Water sustainability. I have issues - politics. And my kids are both on the east coast....

A gay friend and his SO moved from SLC to take a job at Fox TV in Phoenix several years ago, seemed very happy to leave his home town and seems to be thriving down there.

Here is the other wall in the living room. The TV in the corner is a 1959 Magnavox. All works.
The console to the left of that is a Seeburg Home Jukebox. It holds 50 LPs. It also works and is full with albums.

I haven't been to New Mexico in a long time either.

But it's on my bucket list to get back there one more time, especially after watching Breaking Bad.

J. I am so impressed, thanks so much again! I have a very cute little 1935 FADA radio (made in New York, probably the only one in Germany) which would for sure feel very cosy in your home.

My Arizona bud is also very much into vintage everything, watches vintage fare on a Philco Predicta or 1946 7" RCA 621 TV, drives an original umrestored Model 'T' Ford touring car weekends. We first met in the mid- 1960s when we discovered we were competitor buyers of antique radios in the Salt Lake Valley antique/ junk stores.

Tom, did you live out west or did your family take driving vacations?

It was a Grapes of Wrath kind of thing.

We were living in a trailer and and I think my mother got it in her head that if we hauled that fucker out to California a better life was waiting for us there.

Didn't work out.

It was the first of many "Grapes of Wrath" kind of trips we made while I was growing up.

None of which worked out.

Probably part of the reason I relate to my username.

When I went into the Air Force they had us fill out this form with every address that you had lived at your whole life along with the dates that you had lived at each one.

I managed to come up with 21 or 22, but I couldn't remember them all, so I had to fudge some of the dates so that all the time was covered.
