Economic Recovery Leaving People Behind

I am able to see this in Southern California just by the huge numbers of thrift stores there are. Plus the Dollar Trees, Family Dollar, 99 cent stores.

We need to pump this economy some how.

There is candy in the piņata, Robbin. Some of us have been taught that going after it is "immoral". We're supposed to wait until the piņata wants to give it up. Something tells me it's going to be a looooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggg wait.

While the article you cited doesn't break things down any further, we all know that there are a handful of uber-rich among these stats. The ones who actually control the puppet strings. And these ultra-rich, IMO, are focused on the big picture- reducing that number of self-made billionaires, as these new rich represent a hole in their buckets, and they want it all.
So they put their efforts into changing things in such a way as to make it much harder for the new billionaires to pop up. The best way to do that is to ruin America and kill off the culture where entreprenuers sprout like weeds.

What was driving the economy was the availability of easy credit.

This is no longer there for the working poor.

Good paying jobs for workers have for a long time gone and will
not return.

These are the same folks that own congress.......

Instead of silly crap like term limits and all this other stuff, why not get rid of the lobby in congress and do away with such things as citizens united?

This is why, cha-ching cha-ching.

Citizens United and the Koch Brothers.
In January of 2008, Thomas and Justice Antonin Scalia attended a political retreat run by the Koch brothers. Their subsequent ruling in the Citizens United campaign finance case reportedly benefited the Koch brothers' political activities. In early 2011, the advocacy group Common Cause asked the Justice Department to open an investigation into the propriety of the justices' participation in the case, according to the Times.

Yes Carl, we know this but why aren't guys like Was and Whell and the likes able to see it? Why do they keep whining about how bad things are then blindly following lock step with these types?

I'm all for a graduated flat tax. I could see myself voting for any candidate that was seriously working in that direction, so long as they were not also invested in an agenda of manipulation and control, and showed they were committed to balanced budgets.
I have zero confidence I'll have the opportunity to vote for such a person.
