And some artists today may start out country, then try hip-hopish country-rock or vise versa. Crazy how country evolved.

Not really, there is no money in country music as it was. Those folks in Nashville could give a hoot, they want to make money so they told the rock acts around to put a bit of twang in their voice and hired a pedal steal player to sit in with them.

I wonder what kind and how much "modern music" the two of you have been exposed to.....

Enough to know the radio sucks.

One station, always stuff like this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkhfL0pnMPQ

Change stations and hear what is very popular among todays female gradeschool children.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kw9ZuNH6-GU

Then to sadden things you turn off the radio and come to a redlight in the big city and a teenage girl pulls up to the light beside you. She's blasting this through a system her daddy installed while reaching over to give her little baby a bottle to shut it up so she can enjoy her music. Below is the very song I remember that day, same filth included. I hardly ever go to a crowded town, I don't like the new standard kids are allowed to be exposed to. I'm a grouchy old fart when it comes to this.

I'll stop and get back to the regular intent of this thread.

Who said anything about radio.....that is where you've gone wrong......I'd wager less than 1% or "modern music" is actually played on the radio.....

First time I've heard of them. Honestly not bad though. I bookmarked it.

Meanwhile, George Strait.

I've owned this album since mid 70's. That makes me feel OLD.
