New Year's Eve Plans?
Whatcha got going on?
We've been going over to a friend's house for New Year's Eve for nearly 20 years. She studied Art History at the Sorbonne and has been a francophile and gourmet cook since. The same 4 couples get together for a 4 hour, multi-course French meal with matching wines for every course. This all started when our kids were still in diapers. Now everybody's kids are in college or graduated with jobs.
It's become a tradition that I hope never gets broken. It's one of my favorite nights of the year. The prepackaged party-in-a-hotel-ballroom never appealed to me, nor has the drinking into oblivion (for the past 25 years anyway).
Let's hear your plans.

Stay home with my wife and eat hoppin' John.
Oh, and I'll pull a cork, just about like any other day. We're not very exciting people.

This is one of the rare New Year's Eves that my wife has off. It's concert night for Us. Just reworked our modest HT setup, and plan on watching some Jane Monheit, Van Morrison and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Regards,
D-Ray

The neighborhood bar down the street, "Jerrys" has a New Years shindig going on every year. If I go out, that would most likely be the place, 'cuz I can walk there and stagger back. But, I'm not driving anywhere, much after 9p.m.

That's us as well, we will spend a quiet evening here, doubt if we will even stay up to watch the fireworks at the Harbour. Tomorrow something fancy for dinner and a bottle of bubbly.
Happy New Year.
