The spectacle of seeing 80 & 90 yr old men hauled away in cuffs just so our Petulant, Spoiled-Brat Boy President can score cheap political points against the opposition should have ALL Americans up in arms. This is YOUR Kent State, as far as I'm concerned, Liberals.. I NEVER in my 56 years ever imagined I would see men who were willing to lay down their lives to be treated in a such a manner. Go ahead & rip me a new one, tell me I'm wrong, that this is Boehners' & the Tea Partys' fault... The American People know who did this, & I hope yr precious Party gets its Ass handed to it in the 2014 & 2016 elections. This act was DESPICABLE, no matter WHAT side of the aisle you're on...

It seems like this GOP ploy/propaganda worked on you, Sandy, ol' buddy. If the shoe were on the other foot and the Dems threatened a shutdown & default if the GOP didn't accept universal background checks and gun registration, I bet you'd change your tune. FWIW, I don't think any 80 & 90 year old men were hauled off in cuffs. Where'd you come up with that?
As a practical matter, the President simply cannot agree to the demands of the Tea Party. Otherwise, a precedent will be set whereby 40-60 malcontents in the halls of Congress can shut down the country whenever they don't get their way (particularly when the underlying issues were settled in the last election).

Yeah, seeing veterans being treated as pawns like that really pisses me off too.
Especially now that they are arriving at memorials to get arrested deliberately........Because it makes good shock video for the cameras that just happen to be there to catch it...........
"You killed my dog, Mister!"

That kind of shit REALLY stinks.

Are they actually getting arrested? AFAIK, though the Vietnam Memorial Wall is shut down, the Park Rangers simply stand there as folks walk through the gate. OTOH, if they're showing up as GOP pawns looking to be arrested, I have no real issue throwing them in the hoosegow. Being a veteran isn't a free pass to break the law.

There was a picture of some Vietnam vets being loaded into a paddywagon last night. (Or homeless men who were hired to pose as vets? )

Could have! The were probably rustled up at a soup kitchen where wingnuts drive by and shout "Get a job you bum!" all day long.

Mezz is correct in calling you all out. Your self induced hatred of Republicans and ordinary
Americans have blinded you to what's really going on. Your fearless leader refuses
to do his job and negotiate what's best for the country. He is holding the White House,
The United States and the economy hostage with his dictatorship policies and childish
attitude.
He is lashing out and threating all of us like a child bully who can't get his allowance
raised. His irresponsible behavior, lack of achievements and inability to communicate
with world leaders has lowered our status worldwide. Even the Russians had
to step in and put him in his place. America is headed backwards at an alarming rate
and some you guys are fine with it. Have you become so brainwashed by this scam
of an administration that the only response you can come up with is name calling
and turd posting? Wake the Hell up and realize your little bleeding hearts are
pumping the blood out of this great country.

Amazing how this pops up in the search. Democrats? Oh no.. it can't be!
Honestly, we need to just start over in Washington. Fire 'em all and then ( at least for a while ) it'll keep both sides in check. I know, I know.. keep dreaming. But it is how I feel about it.

Bad timing, there's no oxygen for immigration reform just now.
But it's a good cause, immigration reform is sorely needed, everyone agrees, but it's not getting done.
So sure, fire them all. Blocking a street is 100% as bad as defunding the government.
