Hmmm. I was correct, after all.

126 (~60.3%) of 209 Democratic Representatives voted against the resolution and 21 (42%) of 50 Democratic Senators voted against the resolution.

Conversely, 215 (96.4%) of 223 Republican Representatives voted for the resolution and 98% of Senate Republicans voted for it.

In summary, your praise for Tucker opposing the war was ill-founded (he, like nearly all Republicans (including Boot and Kristol) supported it)), as was your assertion that most Democrats voted for it. You lose on all points.

I suppose one needs to live in an alternate reality to perceive Tucker as somehow insightful.

Nailer's a Marylander living in Dallas/Ft. Worth? No wonder he's bitter and confused.

Contradictory information from your two Wiki supports. If you're first cite was the second one in the first place ... However, the first cite does support the point you made...

Speaking of living in an alternate universe, the only opinion I've posted here regarding Tucker was not complementary.

I live in a blue district in a blue county. What am I bitter and confused about?

It's not that I'm blue because where I live is blue. As long as my rice bowl overflows blue/red doesn't really matter. The blues are somewhat more civilized though.

Having to live at the center of the universe, the DFW Metroplex. Never liked the place. I like San Antonio (lived there as a kid), Austin and the Hill Country. Can't stand DFW or Houston - completely devoid of character, not to mention too many Texicans and lousy crabcakes.

Anyone else bothered by praise of the reprise of the sort of authoritarian nationalism of the 1930s?
Here, the "others" are Southern border immigrants.

That's a long winded put down which was set up by your question. Aren't you glad I played along?

Moved to Dallas because I didn't want to work in DC. Was unaware that DFW was the center of the universe then and remain unaware. Never lived in San Antonio as a kid, but spent plenty of TDY time there. If you want the best food there, stay off the River Walk. As far as a place to live, there's a hell of a lot more to do in Dallas, but San Antonio's cost of living is lower. Austin was a great place to visit back in 1980. Not so much now. It's harder to get around now than. They do have a really nice musical festival. Now, Dallas is a better place to live unless you're a Hipster or attending UT. Nothing wrong with the Hill Country. I never want to go to Houston again. Although the time I spent TDY in Clear Lake City was great. Dallas isn't a tourist destination. Good thing I'm not a tourist.

There are Texicans everywhere in Texas. Expecting to find a Maryland crabcake outside "America in Minature" is a sure sign of cognitive disfunction.

That's not how war fever works. It isn't fact-driven.

This was out there for 'all to see,' in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, before the Iraq War. But the public was ready for a war, and didn't care a lot why or with who.
