Another Shooting Near Texas A & M

http://content.usatoday.com/communit...s#.UCljSaGPXng

I know, don't tell me. This is the price we pay for living in a free society because God forbid we try to do something about it.

Yet another terrible tragedy. Is it just me, or does this seem to be trending towards a monthly or weekly event. Probably more than that, 'cuz we all know there is stuff that doesn't even make it into the national media.

Yawn, another day another mass shooting. Now get back to the Fox News babe who has a skirt on with a slit in it up to her ho haw.

Really, this is another senseless tragedy from Texas which is kind of the birthplace of mass shootings.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Whitman

Could you imagine what Whitman could have done with an M107 .50 Caliber Long Range Marine Sniper Rifle. It is legal to own them and a Marine sniper with a brain tumor could do a lot more damage than Charles Whitman did with hunting rifles.

The shooter is another nut job.

The M107 rifle and its ammunition are both too heavy. IIRC Whitman moved about on that observation deck. He could do a lot more structural damage, but I can see no other advantage. The M107 looks scary but is like a ball and chain to its user.

That's what this conversation needs: a little "inside baseball" about the best weapons for mass murder.

Some practice with a bunch of 13 round clips and you wouldn't be far behind the guy with 30 round clips.

Good?

Pete

I don't doubt that. Have you not seen he full auto Glocks with the hundred round drum mags?

I have. The below disclaimer was lifted from an internet source where you can get such a magazine for ~$400.

"** Please be aware: The following states restrict high capacity magazines: California, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Hawaii, Washington DC."

Here's the rub: they'll ship to there...
