Netanyahu to Putin: Golan Heights is a Red Line.

On his third face to face with Putin within seven months Netanyahu said that the Golan Heights is a red line and it will always be part of Israel.

It seems these two have an understanding.

(Note 2 days before this meeting Biden express "Overwhelming frustration" with Netanyahu.)

Imagine those two and The Donald as the impetus behind a Mid East peace agreement.

While I strongly disagree with Netanyahu's West Bank settlement policy, I agree with his views on the Golan. Why on earth would he want to cede control over the high ground to an ungovernable Syria, along with the various miscreants there (Hezbollah, ISIS, Al Nusra ...). Plus, there's good beer on the Golan, something the Syrians won't appreciate.

He is definitely right on the Golan. It would be stupid to hand over the high ground.

As well the Golan Heights were part of the mandate territory to make a home for the Jewish people. But Lord Balfour gave them to his French buddies (Syria).
