Serious DAC question

Looking at OPPO BDP SEs this weekend and for audio they use eight DACs stacked (4 per channel). To be precise, they are 32 bit ESS technology pieces. I've seen the graphs, but was hoping to hear from someone who had heard them in action.

It's like using a 100,000x telescope to look at a star. You're still only going to see a point of light.

My Yamaha ht receiver has ESS 9006 32 bit dac in it and I use it to decode 2 channel tunes from a blu-ray player. Sounds great although the 9006 is their "low end" chip.

Their 9018 chip appears to the totl.

I would be more inclined to just get an outboard dac and use pretty much whatever cd/br player that you want, unless you're going to watch movies on the OPPO as well.

Downside is that a nice stand alone dac costs major dollars. So from that view, a $1,300 OPPO brp is a bargain. Well, almost.
