I'm not entirely sure how things work with the secret service but I can only imagine this adventure made it tough to do their job.

Actually, they probably enjoyed it. It takes them out of their routine and into nature. I once floated down the Snake River fishing for trout right next to Dick Cheney when he was VP. He had Secret Service agents in jet boats zooming around him all the way down the river, along with agents on horseback and in jeeps on the canyon rim. I'm sure they considered that a fun day at the office.

I'm thinking you were lucky you were fishing with Cheney rather than hunting. 😉

Yeh, they closed the boat ramp for 30 minutes or so while his entourage got in the river. Then, the jet boat thing was a bit annoying, though we deliberately drifted on down river past him once the thrill of outfishing the VP was accomplished.

Here's a picture I snapped while waiting for him to launch. You can see a couple of SS agents to his left. Tough day at the office.

Must be a fairly boring job I would think. Spend 99.99% of your time trying to anticipate a .01% occurrence. (Those numbers are mine...just guessing)
