Yes, but those "areas" are still womens issues by extension. Abortion, contraception, even caveats concerning "same sex couples" can be tied to womens issues-----lesbians are women after all.
We shall see how this plays out.

I was thinking the idea of the government not telling a woman what she can do with her body is a Libertarian thing. Guess not.
More and bigger Government to enforce the telling women what they can't do with their body policies too.

Right. The more I see of the GOP platform the more invasive it appears.
Some loon was going on a few days ago about how semen and unfertilized eggs are human, and that when they ends up anywhere but in a womans reproductive system, making a baby, a "tragedy" has occured.... So when a man masturbates, or "pulls out"....he is committing mass murder? Should we hold a wake every time a woman menstruates?
Are these people for real?

The following is deliberately designed to stir up controversy IMHO:
Quote:
It would increase the availability of free legal assistance to victims of domestic violence, extend the definition of violence against women to include stalking, and provide training for civil and criminal court personnel to deal with families with a history of violence. It would also allow more battered illegal immigrants to claim temporary visas, and would include same-sex couples in programs for domestic violence.
|
The same sex extension has nothing to do with women. Stalking seems rather broad and the illegal immigrant provision is absurd on its face. Why ought we grant protection to illegal aliens on domestic violence grounds? Ought that not be a problem for, say, Mexico? The bigger point is that the donks put these in knowing full well that the GOP couldn't accept these provisions in order to continue their narrative that the GOP is anti-women.

Has that made it into a piece of legislation?

Of course it is. Most of the current issues are. Take the ridiculous argument over contraception for instance..........
I think we should provide protection for any potential victim of criminal assault within our borders. Just because someone is here illegally doesn't mean we should turn a blind eye towars violent crimes committed against them. Or are you suggesting we send the bill for court costs to Mexico? Maybe I'm just misunderstanding you?
