Good to see you around, Jack. Along those lines, I have been saving a couple of boutique beers in the fridge for a rainy day. Maybe the high point of my holdings.
You're not looking for any speakers to add to your portfolio are you.
Regards,
D-Ray

How are you d-ray? I have a fantastic session pale ale with amarillo/ cascade
hops I brewed up. And yeah, always looking for some jbl's or a new marantz
piece. No luck lately, everyone seems to be playing pickers at all the thrift
store. Toughest I have seen it in years.

Only one piece with meters... MC 2505
It and a MC 250 are linked to a C 26 pre.
I love to watch meters dance!

Conservative investors should avoid such metals.

I concur! Blue Meters are one of the few that can actually become an investment----after a great deal of time, of course.
As to the OP.
Nope. The stuffs too expensive.

Around here too. The worst part is that some of the thrifts seem to have caught onto the value of some of this stuff. Either that, or thier doing their pricing from ebay auctions. I ran into a pair of Klipsch Heresys in a local thirft not long ago. Thinking I had a score on my hands, I looked at the price tag----$350.
Another AKer that lives nearby found some Maggie MG1s at another local thrift in beautiful condition----$800.
It's getting harder to catch a break, Fellas.
OTOH, I did pick up a set of Realistic Nova 6 for $6 a couple weeks ago.

If I see a real steal at a thrift nowadays, I will probably pick it up, but my main search anymore is for source material. I've found some surprisingly good stuff in cassettes lately. Even if one in three of them are bad, they're still a good buy. My best luck on vinyl is Half-Price Books. Not thrift store prices, but typically in near mint condition.

D-Ray
