"Oh, now, everybody does it."
We've been listening to that since Nixon got busted. There is truth to it, but, when you say things like this;
"Like maybe the people that gave us; Even dead Democrats vote, and the good ones vote twice, or Vote early and vote often."
You'd better check the skeletons in your own closet.
Honesty and Christian values my arse. What a joke.

I agree but as long as there are monetary barriers to obtaining a photo id, this will result in disenfranchising some voters. Which should never happen. i didn't want to quote the whole article but they had three cases where the barriers were steep, $200+ to clear up their id status.

Time to go back to only property owners being allowed to vote?

Any other advance preparations that we should require before people are allowed to vote?

Don't you have to live for 18 years if you're a natural born citizen before you're allowed to vote? I had to. And I still had to do the paperwork.
Not to disfranchise anyone, but if you can't get your paperwork in order to vote, you shouldn't be allowed to.

It amazes me how having a voter I.D. is such a hardship on the young , old and poor?
As it seems that the old should have established some identification during their lives, and if voting was of any interest to them, they should have been registered long ago.
As for the poor and the young, it seems that they can find $200 dollar sneakers, I-Phones, cell-phones with out any problem. But ask them to get an I.D. card is beyond their abilities?
Now for years we had less than 50% voter turn out, before these new voter I.D. laws, what suppressed them then, or didn't they want to too vote, too busy to vote or bother too vote?
I know when I turned 18, I was at the door waiting for voter registration to open.
But as the years have gone by, I feel that our individual vote means less now then ever.

Pass it a year before the election and make the states/Federal gov't. pay any costs for the indigent needing/wanting an ID to vote.
Question - does anyone here actually know anybody who doesn't have a government-issued ID?
