Even those that call themselves Left or Right Wingers, seldom agree on everything.
But if your more toward the center than the far right or left, you may be a centrist.

It may not have been "perfect" Bigerik,
But the men that wrote it included a way to correct it if and when needed. All that I ask is that those that wish to "correct" or change the Constitution, do so legaly, as perscribed by the Constitution.

Elected federal officials swear an oath to protect the Constitution, not the people.
So apparently it's pretty important.
If it is ignored or subverted and the people are incapable of enforcing it or amending it our entire system of government is a lie and a farce. This is not left or right issue at all...

IMHO anyone that thinks it would be written the same by the same people today are not very enlightened.

I'm very sure noonreal,
That if our Congress, Senate, Supreme Court and President were to rewrite our Constitution today, it would take them 30+ years and 5000+ pages to write. And it would be totally worthless legalese, unreadable and vague at best.
Even our Founding Fathers had many discussions and arguments over wording of this document. But the words are as meaningful today as they everywhere.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

I happen to agree with you. Given that many, if not most supporters of such thinking blindly follow the bible, a superhero fantasy from thousands of years ago, one shouldn't be the least bit surprised.

Many who disparage the Constitution are unhappy because it might prevent them from forcing their beliefs on others.
Btw, this relic from an ancient civilization has been very, very successful.

Not to quibble, but some consider themselves independent because both of the major parties are either too far to the left or to the right. For example, one who believed in socialist principles would not be satisfied with the Democrats' embrace of capitalism and might consider himself an independent.
