It may have been sucking up to Chinese censors but it will be lost on most audience members, though less so since some will hear the conservatives bleating about it. BTW, I hear the movie has surprising depths, meaning of life wise, the shallow materialistic fantasy Barbie lifestyle gets some critical light on it. Maybe that is what the conservatives really don't like about it.
