"..as America is no more a Christian Nation than it is a Jewish or a Mohammedan..."

I've politely mentioned it, but come on blue, isn't it time you correctly attributed this?

And you history minded lefties, where were your comments?

Pete

Without looking this up, I seem to recall that this language was part of a treaty signed by Adams. Was it from a treaty with the Barbary States?

So, what's your beef, Pete?

Right. Algeria, Libya, Morocco & Tunisia were called (by us) the Barbary States and the location was called the Barbary Coast. Our Military action against them was our first military action beyond our own shores. The Treaty of Tripoli ended those hostilities.

Same-Same, then.

A signed treaty is a quote? Nice try.

Huh?????

Again, what's your beef? Because it's a treaty that we drafted, that makes it the official position of the United States. Furthermore, since we signed it, it becomes the law.

Are you just splitting hairs here for no purpose? Adams as president signed the damned thing. Okay, so maybe someone working for his administration actually wrote it but so what?

John

Pretty sure Obama didn't write the Health Care bill, but don't see anyone bent out of shape every time I hear "Obamacare".

That's my point Pete. It is the same thing. I certainly do believe that Obama endorses what is in the health care bill or would not have, well, endorsed it. When a criminial confesses, they don't write the confession themselves, they sign it. And when they do, it is presented in court.
