Dr. Oz under fire for arsenic in apple juice claim.

Dr. oz is under fire for his arsenic in apple juice claim. I saw him on tv this morning and he was trying hard to explain his claim. I wonder if he had thought this through before making his scary statement.

If they do not wash the apples before crushing them for juice be aware that there is arsenic in the pesticides used in orchards. I grew up in apple country, used to pick them to make money.

When pressed if he would still allow his kids to drink apple juice he said yes. WTF? But because of his pronouncement my wife has stopped drinking it! She will not go near the stuff.
There was a big discussion this morning on a news program re organic and inorganic arsenic. One of them being dangerous. It was pointed out that arsenic is present in drinking WATER. Dr Oz lamely state that he was alluding to the possible long term effect of drinking the apple juice.
To the average person like myself and my wife arsenic is POISON.
Before you come on a major network and make frighten statements it is incumbent on you to lay out very extensive explanation.
I think Dr OZ was irresponsible.

TV is about ratings, ratings, ratings. Think this controversy won't give his ratings a boost? Think saying everything is safe would help his ratings?

Why does Don Henley come to mind?

Lots of arsenic in avacados. They are unsafe for many pets for that reason. I eat pounds of guacamole monthly (It is the southwest after all) and lived to talk about it.
I love the stuff!

I've heard that avocados are responsible for an otherwise unexplainable obsession with Chevy Vegas.
