Funny how so many who claim to care about the environment live in the smoggiest state (CA.) in the union & refuse to take blame for causing it.

It's not funny at all. Those with bad air quality want better air quality.

But they act as if everyone else is the problem. Hell, we produce a lot of Cali's power at Palo Verde. If they had to make that power themselves, they might feel a little different about things.

Palo Verde doesn't contribute anything to air pollution. In fact, "power generation operations to date at Palo Verde have offset the emission of almost 484 million metric tonnes of carbon dioxide (the equivalent of taking up to 84 million cars off the road for one year); more than 253,000 tonnes of sulfur dioxide; and 618,000 tonnes of nitrogen oxide." FWIW, it's ownership also include SoCal utility companies.

That's my point. The odds are they would supply themselves with that power from coal if P.V. didn't. It's easy to agree with all of this EPA crap unless it directly affects you.
A lot of the Anti-Nuke people also live in Ca. I know, I'm from there.

I was under the impression that Cali has some of the toughest emission standards in the country. They also have a greater population than some European countries.

Ayup. We should pave over Nevada and the hermit kingdom, Arizonia, to the south in solar panels.

On the news last night Phoenix high 106 degrees, I wonder if it rose from its ashes?
