Man on the Moon 40 years latter

Where were you when man first walked on the moon?
We put a man on the moon when a separate room was needed for a computer. Quite an accomplishment.

Yet we can't convert wind and solar energy to practical cheap fuel 40 years latter?????????
Seems to me there is an agenda.

I watched the moon landing on a then-new 9" B&W Sony...I remember it as being HOT, we didn't have A/C in our house then...I was 12, I never got into the "Space Race" as bad as a lot of kids did. I remember back then, any time they shot a rocket off, ALL regular TV was shut off all day, & they had interviews w/seemingly everyone at NASA above the level of janitor...Now, the shuttle being launched MIGHT rate what, 5 minutes, unless it blows up or something...

I took photos of the TV screen just as Niel Armstrong took his famous step. Never realized that I could have sold the film to one of the local papers the next day. Slides are still around here somewhere.

I was asleep in bed, and Dad came, woke me up, and said, "Come on out here and look at the TV!". He took a whole bunch of black & white Polaroids of the TV, too.

Never could understand why anyone would want to go to the moon when Texas is so much closer.

They look about the same to me.

I can think of a few people I would really like to send to Mars - on a one way trip.
