In hindsite, certainly there should have been more security.

Maybe 'more' would have been enough. But however much you try, enemies are clever and will find ways to hurt you sometimes, if not in one place, then another.

The deaths were caused by our enemies. Not our President.

Which conspiracy would you like me to believe? That perhaps FDR should've had that base on some sort of alert, knowing there was a Japanese fleet about in an unknown location, or that Bush Jr fabricated evidence because he was on a vendetta for his father?

I believe the whole Pacific was placed on alert, but a comm fuck-up affected Hawaii.

You should know that I don't think Bush clever enough to fabricate anything, and don't see him as really responsible. The PNAC, during it's time in government, implemented its plan.

There has been a longstanding disagreement at State between the security-at-all-costs security weenies who want our embassies to look like razor wire encased bunkers and the Foreign Service staff who want to show a more welcoming, confidant America.

Yeah, because spinning up a story and lying about it for weeks so that the inconvenience of 4 people dying on Obama's watch didn't adversely impact his election chances was not an issue at all in your book. In fact, per your earlier post, it happens all the time in DC.

Putting the best face on bad events is indeed an every day event in DC. Your side has been putting a pretty face on the Iraq debacle for nearly a decade, Whell. Moreover, your statement above infers that the administration had full in-depth knowledge of the attackers, identities, and plans at the time. We still don't, BTW, and may never. Investigations in Libya aren't exactly an easy thing to do.

Oh c'mon Don, the man was caught in a bald faced lie.

Sure, he's stupid, but his handlers weren't.

They knew damned well Iraq was no threat to the US.

I do believe they thought they would find enough left over out of date chemical weapons to cover their asses, because Jesus Christ, we were the ones that sold them to them.

But when they couldn't even come up with that, that should have been the end of the Bush Presidency.

And that was my biggest disappointment ever in the American public. My God, they not only gave him a pass, they re-elected the Fucker.

In correct maybe you didn't know.

Libia's embassy is in Tripoli

Benghazi is a safe house that I knew out the gate. It also was not fortified like an embassy.
