Question, who is going to give medical assistance to the presumed thousands or is
it millions of newly insured people on "Obama care" ? Doctors are in very short supply
and all the ones I know are not accepting new patients at all. It's also insane how many
mothers that clog the emergency rooms now with snot nosed kids and no fever.
I had my elderly father at the emergency room a few months back with low blood
pressure and internal bleeding. In comes this young African American kid 17 , walks in
with his mother and tells the front desk he thinks he is having a heart attack. In a
wheelchair and straight back, nothing but a common cold the Dr later informed me.
He knew how to play the system for sure.

Sorry to hear. If your Dad was that sick you should have called an ambulance, you get triage'd on the way and you go straight past the desk if that's the case.

"Obamacare" is Federal, State, and county. You buy a policy and go to the doctor with your insurance card. Anything else is Alaska or local, can't help you.

Yeah I should have called an ambulance I guess but I was able to carry him to the
car. I was trying to save the taxpayers an ambulance bill.

Hatchet, currently, a person with insurance must go to a doctor that is connected to that plan. The ACA works the same way. As people sign up for plans, they will go to the doctors connected to those plans.

Obamacare is supposed to stop moms clogging ERs with runny nosed kids....duh

you get insurance and go to an urgent care or your own doctor for runny noses instead of waiting for a condition to get so bad it becomes an emergency room visit without insurance and thus drive up the costs for everyone.

Jack you are really silly or the best troll ever.

You are not telling the truth...an ER doctor would not tell you another patient's private medical issues. HIPPA violation big time look it up troll!

i work in an ER btw so I know this stuff

Having been to the VA Hospital with my Brother a couple of weeks ago. Then before that many many times with my Mother. A medical facility no one would argue is jammed with patients now needing care. The service and care has always been first rate. But they do make you wait for appointments but do see you.

I have good private insurance and still to see a Doctor for a non emergency visit is a month. The last Doctor I visited is now under a ten minute per patient time limit.

Heart attacks, respiratory distress, strokes, MVAs get first treatment.
The less critical have to wait in the waiting room.

Some places have Fast Track stations set up for the the runny noses to get in and out super quick.

Trust me if you are waiting hours in a waiting room it means the Trauma section of the ER is having a shitty day...they would really rather see you and get you home ASAP.
They just cannot because they are busy saving the critically injured and ill.
