In the meantime, and back on topic, there appear to be solutions out there to quell the "environmentalists" concerns.

That would be fine as long as it stops the earthquakes too.

But what does that have to do with the Keystone XL Poopline?

Oh, and now that I've read the article, I've got another concern. Haliburton's "CleanStim" is made from "food industry ingredients". As we all know, many food additives are of questionable safety. If food industry ingredients includes such things we could see problems with contamination of the ground water. Also, if it includes food itself, we could have a serious problem in the eutrophication of aquifers.

Crap, you're right. I thought that then Canadians were using a form of fraking to get to the tar sands, but come to find out its more of a mining operation with a slurry on the end.

This explodes a lot myths about gas prices being so low in the Middle East.

http://www.investopedia.com/financia...#axzz2Js9bq53K

Remember places like Iran or Saudi Arabia are not democracies and can set prices for gasoline.
Plus even if gas is under a dollar a gallon in these places who would want to actually live in one of these nations.

The oil from Canada will be sold on the world market for the maximum profit.

By foreign (American) oil companies. Petro Canada is the only Canadian company operating in the tar sands.

Sorry for my part in helping to derail this thread.

As to Halliburton's spin article? I'm not ready to see the price of olive oil go through the roof because they want to green up their image.

Indeed. And so it's going to be exported - it's refined by guys with good union jobs.

We can't stop cars by reducing the supply of gas! Me you and us will keep driving, it'll hurt the poor the most by far.
