Its as true today as its always been. And just like you can't gauge the performance of an investment by today's selling price, you can't just the outcome of a commodities trade by a short term price spike. The price of oil heated up this spring, only to back off this fall and early winter. Commodities trading didn't just stop this past fall, so is commodities trading only to blame when the price of oil goes up?

I think that there is at least some possibility that we have been played. It would have to be someone who has a real good handle on the uber-patriot terminology, but I think a bright enough prankster could pull it off.
