Great vocal range, rarely given credit for. About as non-commercial as possible. And of course, I always enjoy those who are brave enough and willing to take issue with organized religious dogma. In O'Connor's case, obviously, that was the Catholic Church, that has generated more suffering in the Republic of Ireland than any other social/cultural institution. If you haven't seen it, take a look at "The Magdelene Sisters", how the Catholic Church in Ireland chose to deal with the issue of "bad girls."
