Hey, that's my main machine. Have some EPI model 100 hooked up to it now.

Not that I've noticed. I do see tiny sparklies on occasion. Is that what you're referring too? I also have Mullard 6BQ5s in my Akais, never noticed a "flash" with those either.

Some Mullard tubes light up like a when first turned on. You tube's got to have a video. Here you go. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Mc27DjN_1c (kind of shitty video)
Not all of them do it and even with the same mfg. date and type they don't always flash. I've got a pair of 12AT7s and only one does it. A pair of 6AV6s does the same. Just a strange characteristic of some Mullards, I guess. Tube trivia..
My experience in my Magnavox 150s was a much better bass presentation and the mids filled out, too. Even the highs got better with Mullards .

How do those babies sound? I've got a pair that I've been meaning to rotate in to this hookup?

Nice. I put in some new polypropylene caps and built some 18" stands that put the tweeters right at ear level. They really like guitar music. I can't seem to get enough of the Friday Night in San Francisco with the Guitar Trio.
I installed some binding posts when I changed the caps, but I still need to re-veneer them. They are kind of beat up, so the WAF is pretty low for the living room. She prefers the looks of the Infinity Reference Four.
Regards,
D-Ray
