We Republicans must all speak out to protect the Mueller investigation
By Dick Thornburgh
June 8 at 7:14 PM
Dick Thornburgh was U.S. attorney general from 1988 to 1991.

I’m sure Whell’s wingnuts will be roasting Thornburgh as a RINO on Monday, and he’ll be here parroting them, lol.

As John Adams said, our country is “a government of laws, and not of men.” This founding principle of our democracy must be protected. We will be remembered by what we say and what we do in this challenging time in America’s history. We must all speak out and work to protect the special counsel’s investigation from interference. As Republicans, we owe that much to our party. As citizens, we all owe even more to our country.

Senior Republicans Are Complicit in Trump’s “Spygate” Propaganda
https://www.newyorker.com/news/our-c...ate-propaganda
Quote:
Trump’s skills as a propagandist shouldn’t be underestimated. Even before he entered politics, he had spent decades trying to manipulate the news media to his advantage. By instinct or design, his attack on Mueller meets many of the requirements for a successful misinformation campaign that the British author A. J. Mackenzie listed in his 1938 book, “Propaganda Boom”: repetition; a catchy slogan; color; a specific objective; a kernel of truth; concealment; and timing.

It’s sure working on Donny’s mindless followers, a couple of them resident right here.

I continue to derive 'treason.' "...adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort."
Interfering in our election by Russia was an enemy act. Offering to cooperate with this fits the definition above.

What I think was going on at Trump Tower.
1. Russians invite Trump campaign to meeting with promise of illegal aid against Hillary.
2. Trump's people accept. But no aid is offered, because the Russians fear a sting, and the meeting is a test.
3. Trump's people pass test. More covert cooperation ensues.

Russia at this time does not cross the enemy threshold. Pretty sure Mueller (who hasn't charged anyone with treason to the best of my knowledge) and Congress would agree. Americans and Russians can visit the others' country with appropriately stamped passports. Trade exists between us. Not exactly the behavior of enemies.
Has Trump committed treason by supporting Russia's reentry into the G7?

A man who is a wonderful husband and father, except when beats his wife now and then, is an 'enemy' one might say. A hostile act is not cancelled by any number of non-hostile ones.

Friends commit hostile acts which doesn't keep them from being friends. However we're talking about nations, not individuals.

I'm not sure that word 'friend' means what you think it means.
We are talking about covert hostility between nations. No overt break in relations, but the 'attack' occurs nonetheless. If nation A covertly assassinates the head-of-state of nation B, that would still be an act of war by traditional stanbards, even though normal relations continue unless and until the attack is detected and proved....

Why did you use a husband and wife as an example if where talking about nations? The exact point I made in my previous post which you remade in your following post.
So you're equating what the indicted Russians did to assassinating President Obama.
Enjoyed your typical not so subtle personal attack regarding friends. You've never had a fight with a friend and remained friends?
