Anyone ever try the baked potato chips? I don't like them as much as the fried chips that drip oil and salt, but my kids like them. I guess you'll eat - and like many times - the initial version of what you're given, for better or for worse, and a change to something different is a disappointment.

I've tried the baked, but they are too dry for me.

And I think you're spot on with everything else in this post. But, you forgot to mention sitting on our arses all day chatting in political forums.

My exercise includes jumping to conclusions and dodging responsibility.

We get our hamburgers from Allen Bros in Chicago, they are so lean that Florence has to put butter in the pan. Some onions and mushrooms and you have a burger.

Here are a few good and entertaining books to read about the sorry status of the American food industry:

Fast Food Nation - Eric Schlosser (good book, mediocre movie that didn't go into the proper detail)

The Omnivore's Dilemma and In Defense of Food - Michael Pollan

Twinkie Deconstructed - Steve Ettlinger

Having lived overseas for a dozen years and traveled to over 50 countries, it's remarkable how flavorless our primary foodstuffs (meats, vegetables, bread) are when compared to just about anywhere else on earth, including Third World nations. It's immediately noticeable in our chicken and pork compared to those meats elsewhere.
