Islamophobia in Wichita

The donor who provided funds for a chapel on the Wichita State University campus provided that the chapel should be open to students of all creeds and races. When the university made some changes to the chapel to accommodate Muslim prayer time, the anti-Muslim sentiment started churning on social media.

An alum, Jean Ann Cusik posted with typical eloquence: “The Muslims are ecstatic” about the renovation, she wrote in the post. “Sumpin’ NOT right here.”

Cusick said some people have contacted state legislators, Fox News and the Breitbart News Network.

I'm sure the Governor is proud.

This is all about accommodation, nothing more and nothing less. There is no legitimate argument for the position that replacing pews with folding chairs compromises a Christian's ability to worship as he chooses but the absence of an open floor where Muslims can kneel for prayer is an unequivocal compromise and an affront to them personally and collectively.
