Suburra: The fix is in to turn an area near Rome into a "Las Vegas". However this sets into motion cross currents of mafias and corrupt
Catholic officials.

This violent tale looks into what moves Italy...a matrix of gangsters, clergy and politicians.

Netflix.

Saw this, based on your prompting. Found it a think piece about AI that's visually and narratively fascinating. Very good.

Though there's a lot of confusion about AI. Intelligence is simply the ability to make decisions. Even a paramecium has some such ability. Computers have ever since the first conditional was programmed.

Of course, some entities are more intelligent than others.

Overlooked but crucial is 'artificial desire.' We need to be careful what we make the toasters want.

Just watched "Imperium", a pretty good flick about an undercover FBI agent that infiltrated white supremacists and brought down a terrorist plot to detonate a "dirty bomb" in DC. Supposedly based on a real situation.

Recommended.

Traitor: DON CHEADLE

A devout Moslem goes deep under cover and has to reconcile broad challenges to his faith.

Once again Don Cheadle shows that he is a good actor.

Mot the least of which is the tendency of some infidels to insist on using an outdated term for a Muslim.

It seems obviously disrespectful to keep using a word for a group that members of the group find objectionable. So I'd say it behooves us baby boomers to update our usage.

Seen a few since I checked in, last was Hacksaw Ridge.
Getting the obvious out first, Mel Gibson, the director, has been an asshole and may still be an asshole. The promotion has been notably minus his name.
Yet, he is a remarkable film maker and storyteller with more than a penchant to having the audience squirming as a primary goal, but here it serves the story well with realistic battle scenes.
The religious aspects thankfully remain part of the principal's character rather than proselytization.
Desmond Doss lived quietly several miles north of me in the next town for his later years until he passed ten years ago, I never knowingly met him.
Ultimately, this is a story based on a modest man of exceptional character true to his standards.

'The Imitation Game' with Benedict Cumberbatch.

Helluva movie and a helluva story. It could be argued that Alan Turing is responsible for the machine I'm typing this post on. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Turing
