The obvious change in strategy is in fact underway, as reported in this AP story:

After summer of attacking Trump, Clinton focuses on herself
By LISA LERER Sep. 17, 2016
WASHINGTON (AP) — All summer long, Hillary Clinton delighted in snappy attack lines about Donald Trump.
Electing the billionaire, she warned, would be a "historic mistake." The Republican nominee perpetuates "outlandish Trumpian ideas." Clinton reveled in imagining her rival "composing nasty tweets" as she derided him as "temperamentally unfit and totally unqualified" to be president.
But as the campaign moves into the final stretch, Clinton finds herself chasing an even more elusive target: herself.

I'm familiar with the way the Electoral College works Sheltie, thank you very much.
If you will peruse the recent state polls you will see see that Trump is also surging in most of the critical swing states also.

From the linked article, "Ratings of her honesty have remained stubbornly low - even among Democrats."
That is the crux.
The sniper thing is a gnawing disaster. It has cold optics.

And for Democrats in particular, her close association to the people in DNC shenanigans re Bernie prompts affirmation.

Tom the destruction of the political establishment with all this naive nattering about transparency is what has made our politics so bloody insane. To start with the average American is not adult enough to cope with political transparency. As long as we have a two party system, as opposed to a no party system that the Framers wanted, we absolutely need the political machines. Otherwise there is absolutely no way to discipline the pols.

People only remember the screw-ups, it's human nature. As for the anti-establishment fervor, the Clinton name is very toxic except for the Hillarybots.
Under these circumstances, do you really want Bill and Chelsea stumping for you? Trump OTOH is a brand name and personality (whether one likes him or not) and his family campaigning for him seems to be working. Bad brand and poor marketing is how I see the HRC campaign.

That's about as fair as saying 'the Clinton name is not very toxic except to misogynists.'

Trump is largely in control of the narrative in spite of his toxicity, something Dems and Hillz in particular haven't seemed to manage with any apparent effectiveness.
His populist appeal as a fact starved demagogue has carried him much farther than expectations could have predicted.

Shouldn't you rephrase that to read 'the Hillary name...........'.
So one half of the country belongs in the basket of "deplorable's", half of the remainder are 'misogynists', and you are wondering what to do?
Hillary should either pull out of the race as ' not electable' or get a management team that do not think like you do. Disparaging the voters is not a very good idea as Romney will attest.
Reminds me of the bumper sticker "God save me from your followers".

You are reacting as if I made a generalization about misogynists. Read again. My intent was to say that two statements are unfair.

This thread is getting one dimensional and I will stay out of this discussion.
Listening to Jackson Brown through my DQ-20's is a far better way to occupy myself.
