33% parent involvement

Now 33% may sound like a decent number, but not for parent involvement in Detroit schools.

Whats the answer ??? Bribe them with gift cards to attend parent conferences.

With both parents working and the current management passion for 10 hour days maybe they just don't have time.

That's not a bad percentage. Low in regard to possible numbers of parents, but active participation, even though it's only 33% will have more effect than a hall full of disinterested bums on seats

Its only a guess but I would think our local school district has at least a 50-60%, if not more, rate.

I have no kids, so I'm not very "up" on what goes on in the public school system.
But, I can say that when I see what is coming out of those schools...................

When all you do is teach kids how to meet a test instead of teaching them how to think that's what will happen. I just thank God that I received my education in the 30s and 40s.

There were good and bad teachers back then, and its still the same way. What comes out of a school is more a reflection on the people raising these kids, then who is teaching them.

It takes a village ? My ass, it starts and ends with the parents lap.
