Rahm out?
'Another three election lawyers say Emanuel could be thrown off the ballot on a residency challenge. None says Emanuel will have it easy.'

Something tells me this'll go away somehow.
Just a hunch

Even if he doesn't meet the legal requirements?

They're stretching it. If the man owns property there, pays local taxes and never officially changed his residency, then YES, he is a resident. The entire time I was in the service, my legal residency was Newton Falls, Ohio, although I actually lived in San Diego, California.
You think he will wiggle out of it because of his connections. I think this only came up because the opposition party is out to get him. And they will stretch the rules until they snap in their attempts to succeed.
Oh, that's right, Republicans would never do such a thing, it isn't "moral". Please.

"Residency challenges over the years have hinged on whether candidates could show some token form of residence they maintained -- a room in their parents home; an apartment with nothing more than a futon and a refrigerator with pizza and Coke where a state legislator said he went one night a week to maintain residency."
Seems like he'll find a way to get it done if the bar for proving residency is this low.

Of course they would and the reps would be broiling them for it, rightfully so. That wasn't my point.
Didn't the article state that he owns property in the city?
And if has never changed his legal residency from Chicago to D.C. or anywhere else, then.........................
I say it goes nowhere, because it has nowhere to go.

Read the article.
It's gonna go somewhere for sure - court. Unless there is a backroom deal.
It will be fun to watch anyway.

On the subject of Rahm, here's an interesting take from the conservative that conservatives love to hate, David Brooks (Brooks smart, reasonable and a gentleman - they can't stand that ):

The filing deadline is 11/22. I'm not sure if he's filed, but he'll have at least until then to amend his application as needed. I suspect if he had to amend his residency info to show that he lived in a friend's closet, and it met the residency definition - which based on the article appears to be a very low threshold - it doesn't seem terribly difficult to fix.
