A friend of mine was on one for a few weeks. Fine now after a week or two in rehab.

The vent saved his life.

Actually, that is dangerous and wrong. Ventilators prevent you from taking deep breaths and they keep you on your back.

I see ventilators as a last resort. Kinda like using nukes against the invaders in the movie "Independence day".

NO. The main reason people are on ventilators is they CAN'T take deep breaths, becuase of disease, not the ventilator.

Stop giving medical advice or finish med school first. This is not the sort of thing that should be politicized. Exploitation of anti-authority sentiment in this area is demagoguery at it's worst, because it directly causes physical suffering and death.

I'm beginning to think tRump is insane. He's doddering on like he actually does hope Covid-19 will "just disappear". He's insisting that the outbreak is under control. He's sticking to the "theory" that the numbers are going up only because "we've done more testing than anyone else in the whole wide world". He won't discuss that we're persona non grata in most all of Europe. He ignores that our numbers are higher than anywhere else on the planet and we have a number of states that have higher totals than quite a few countries. On one hand he says the economy is roaring back but then says he's contemplating another stimulus package. I seriously think He's gone 'round the bend.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Forty lobbyists with ties to President* Donald Trump helped clients secure more than $10 billion in federal coronavirus aid, among them five former administration officials whose work potentially violates Trump's own ethics policy, according to a report.

The lobbyists identified Monday by the watchdog group Public Citizen either worked in the Trump executive branch, served on his campaign, were part of the committee that raised money for inaugural festivities or were part of his presidential transition. Many are donors to Trump’s campaigns, and some are prolific fundraisers for his reelection.
