ALSO: It occurs to me that the subject in the photo can be identified, simply by comparison to other photos. If the header at top of the badge identifies a facility, that proves subject worked at that facility.

Here's a version of badge image enhanced to show header. Looks like TEW or TKW.

Florence in her mid to late twenties. She was testing bomb triggers then. John I have photos of her from 12 onward she was/is always lovely. The look in her eyes when I tell her that nowadays is priceless.

Even at that DQ we are in our eighties, if you follow the link in post 12 they admit that poor lady worked there but they are still stiffing her, and she is much younger. Now why did DOE call her so often if she never worked there? Dept of Labor is handling the payout and I suspect Monsanto has their buddies there as well. Frex why are we the only civilized country that allows use of their rBST growth hormone if they don't have friends in high places.

I know who AFIP is even have the case number AFIP #1747711 from their report dated June 17, 1980.

I think there are more than three letters, could it be MOUND?

Do you have that 1980 AFIP report? If so, does it not have 'where and when exposed' data in it? If not, what excuse is given for not providing it?

Can't say it looks like Mound to me. Is Pio's guess of TRW plausible?

I was sure that was her in the picture.

I'm also sure that you tell her often, and that her reaction is as you say it is. What a wonderful relationship.

I'm happy for the two of you.

http://www.lm.doe.gov/Mound/Sites.aspx

That is a link to the clean-up - if you can call it that, cover-up might be a better description. Yesterday evening I re-scanned the photo. The original is a 6x9 B&W glossy but was apparently not taken with an especially great camera as scanning at 2400dpi does not reveal any readable detail of the ID badge. However I will send a copy of the photo to both places and a cover letter. I just do not want those lying bastards at Monsanto and DOE off the hook - to hell with the money.

I don't believe that TRW was ever involved in Mound. Also none of the medical records that I have ever mentioned Mound. Yet why were samples (slides) sent to AFIP? Why did DOE keep calling ? To see if she was still alive? She remembers too much about that place, that the T building was basically the head of an elevator shaft to the underground part of the site. That she used to do inventory. Then go to one of the main buildings to enter this data into the computers.

I have scanned the AFIP letter and will see if I can attach the PDF

"She remembers too much about the place."

You might consider getting more plugged-in with the 'Mound claimants community,' which the TV report you linked-to indicated is large and at least somewhat organized. It could be that some of what Florence remembers, in the form of an deposition/affidavit, might help the cases of other people being denied.
