Darwin award time

A toddler in New Mexico looking for an iPad in mommy's purse instead finds a loaded pistol. Lets off a single round and gets daddy in the arse and mommy in the shoulder, but missed his two year old sibling.

Child --> Purse --> Loaded gun --> Fun for all.
When will the gun owners, especially parents with little children will ever learn.
This woman is expecting another child. These children get the short end of the stick being born to these morons.

Call child protective services. The children need to be removed.

[sarcasm] Well, you see, MORE guns would make such situations safer... [/sarcasm]

Sigh...

This is a three-year-old. As in the other recent such case we discussed, this is a child who can be expected not to have the strength to cock a handgun, or to operate one double-action. So the handgun was left not just accessible to him, but in a very unsafe cocked state. That's Darwin-award-class behavior even if there isn't a kid around.
