I'm speaking to the broader issue which the song/Kate story is but a drop in the bucket. When is the last time you listened to Pickaninny Heaven? The original Paul Robeson version or Kate's allegedly racist cover? It's a show tune and they both were in the show.

Perhaps you are referring to the song "That's Why Darkies Were Born", which Robeson sang in a Broadway show that satirized White Supremacist ideas. I don't see any reference to the great Robeson ever having sung the other song.

Correct. That is also the show I was referencing and Kate's cover which would come across as racist being sung by a white. Mistakenly assumed this was DQ's referenced song.

I'm not all that into chick singers, especially from that long ago, but have posted a few albums on the thread.
