I have not been following this thread very closely, but I thought this article might be appropriate.

Over 1,100 leading economists sent a letter to President Donald Trump urging the president to reverse course on recent trade tactics — lest the US repeat one of the biggest mistakes of the Great Depression.

The letter, organized by the conservative-leaning National Taxpayers Union, warned that recent tariffs and trade protectionism were harmful to the US economy. The economists cited a 1930 letter that warned Congress against passing the Smoot-Hawley Act, a large package of tariffs that many studies cite as a major reason for the depth of the Great Depression.
Poor Whell must be in panic mode right now, lol.

Tarriffs with Europe on hold, but he apparently still thinks he can win a trade war with China, easily.

Enonomies are complex things, that even the best economists admit they don’t fully understand. Yet rubes like Whell believe Donny when he says things like, “only I can fix it!”

No, my idea of wining is not only that, but also seeing you post a quote from an advocate of Reagan's tax policies in a thread about supply side economics.

Thank you very much.

Always a pleasure watching you moan about your glass being half full of bilge, Mike.

At least he's consistent. Consistently wrong ... and he wears it proudly. In Trumpworld, being insistently and consistently wrong is deserving of a Trumpian Iron Cross of Merit.
