I agree it has nothing to do with what is legal but the expectation of a reserved parking spot on a city street is just not practical. Least not the cities I have lived in.
At night literally every spot is taken, when it snows everyone needs to clean there space to get out. There is absolutely no way in which commerce could proceed if everyone "reserved" their space.
Anyway this is of no consequesne to me any longer.

and it's a good thing as the latest forecast calls for another 28 inches to be added to the 15 that has already fallen. If this comes to fruition our area is in for some serious problems.

I have no problem with that, problem is depending on circumstance the one doing the shooting might be the asshole.

Good points. I am glad to say I have never lived in a city large enough for that particular problem to have come up. I've always had access to private parking.

The good thing is that in a city you can generally just leave your car and take mass transit and avoid the entire nighmare for a few days.

In some cases digging your car out on a crowded side street did not even become an option for several days.

And if you did the municipal snow plow would come along and put a 3' high wall of slush and ice between your car and the street.

By God, you are ahead of me.

I just pull my 3500 Chevy 4WD out with my 2500 4WD Dodge. 90 LF of log chain is pretty handy too.

I save the Dodge for the rough work.

And I love a straight axle.
