Parking places everywhere we looked, dipped cones at Dairy Queen and lots of brownie points from the wife. Nice to get away from it all even if it was only a 160 mile round trip.

I've got the three record set of Linda Ronstadt "Round Midnight", which is absolutely stunning...if you like the old standards and Nelson Riddle. This is my reference for testing new cartridges. Along with "Time Out" and the ARS "Imaginary Lover".

A 160 mile trip sounds like a full day to me.

What kind of Ortofon did you get? I used to think that MM Ortofons were the cat's ass until I started using HOMC's.

It's pretty close to an entry level from what I read - Ortofon FF 15 EX MkII. I haven't had a chance to install it yet, because I have to solder some headshell wires. I'll give some impressions on AK when I get a chance to listen.

Linda caught my attention a long time ago. I bought Hasten Down the Wind as a college boy. I always thought it was an ironic title, because the cover picture showed that she had felt a cool breeze. I have lots of her stuff through the years, including the Nelson Riddle albums. Even have one by the Stone Poneys.

Regards,

D-Ray

I have to laugh when I hear the coastal city wankers call us midstates people yokuls. In my town we have had one murder in the last 20 years. They are right, we do hold the moral high ground. I'll never live in a big city again.

There are many things I love about city living. People are not one of them

We drove through back before the housing bubble and there was a smaller island with a house and dock for $150,000.
