Obama is inept!

He is announcing major military reduction and at the same trying to project significant instability far from his sphere of influence.

The Repubs are going to hammer him. I repeat the mid term is going to be a Dem disaster.
I see it the same way you do. I hope Putin first uses cuts in oil and NG exports to make sure the Russian backed areas remain safe and doesn't get involved in the war. That will send a strong message throughout Europe as far away as France to stay out of it. The neo-Nazi leaders are now burning the synagogues and Churches. Sad that Washington didn't have the foresight to see that this wouldn't come out as they had planned.

All I have seen is threats from Rice and predicted appointments from Nuland along with a "F Euro" if they don't go along. I have not seen any mention of "boots on the ground". Can you please provide that link to that is what is planned?

Any threats from the US/EU will cause saber rattling by RU. Black sea fleet movements already.

There is really nothing we can do about this crisis except wait. Of course Fox will be blaming it all on Obama. For some of you less critical thinkers (and I do not mean you of course!) the Crimea sector of Ukraine is made of only 60 percent Russian Ukrainians.
The other 40 percent are dead set against annexation to Russia.

Nuland is part of this admin. and his inability to rein in or fire anyone who makes the wrong decision makes Obama look extremely weak.

Watch the video where she admits that we have given the NGO 5 billion dollars to "direct" the Ukraine"

Russia could kill more Europeans by cutting off their heating oil and natural gas supply then any aggressive military action. Venezuela just isn't capable of supplying that much and I doubt they would be willing to go against the BRICS nations.

This is not in the cards. The Russian Oligarchs need the market.

What Russia will do is destabilize any future government of Ukraine...make it
difficult to function. I guess the IMF will do that anyway.

Could be right, I don't know. You would think that these nations would know what the IMF was about just by looking at what has happened to Greece. Man they played that country like a chess wizard. Now they are ruled by international bankers.

The US intervening in the Ukraine would be like Putin sending Russian troops to Mexico to stop the drug war.
