You may insist on saying that German sounds pretty crappy in the ears of most English native speakers, sir, but anyway listen to my examples mentioned above. Some Americans know the sound of German only in context with the Barking Monster, so their aversion against German is understandable.
When I hear Richard Quest speaking English I must vomit, it is not so when I hear David Cameron speaking. One should always try to avoid generalizations - I don't mean you, Pat, you do not generalize.
