Looking for a spot to land after the election?

How did they "see" your gun permit?

Do they have that information available on their computers?

I'm not planning on volunteering anything unless they ask me.

It's been a number of years, but I was allowed through with my .30-06

They don't like handguns though. Self defense is apparently not highly valued.

I was up there three years ago.

This is the view from the beginning of my cousins dock.

And this is looking back at their house from the water.

And this is as close as I got to Canada as my wife and I didn't have passports then. This crossing is about 4 hours north of where my cousin lives.

I have been to Canada and transported a hunting rifle. They are quite strict. You must describe the weapon exactly. If you are even off an inch on the barrel length they may deny your permit depending on what mood they are in. And, you can forget taking a pistol as near as I could tell.

Sort of an interesting attitude I thought since the government ran the hunting on Anticosti and made a bit of money doing it.

It was under my drivers license in my wallet and the officer saw it and knew what it was. Asked me if I owned and how many. Said yes and was unsure. Said they were back home secured. Then he asked if I were too have a weapon where would it be in the car. I said trunk.......then the party started!

Beautiful spot at your cousin's. Envy you, not that picturesque where I am going. Safe travels and enjoy. Wear a Hillary button and all will be well, just don't get a picture taken with it.

Going to Tennessee, then Maine, and then maybe Canada (New Brunswick and/or Nova Scotia.) Gonna hafta leave my guns on the US side, I hear they are real assholes about it in Canada. That's OK. I'll leave them at my cousin's in Maine. She's a licensed Gun owner herself so she should be cool with that. She's also a Clintonista so I'll have to keep a low profile on my politics when I'm there.
Well, bye. (To quote Tombstone.)

But, actually, "be safe."
