(Not quite that much, of course....) But it's just a thing. You either have it or you don't.

I don't get off on sports much. I don't lust to kill furry creatures and eat them. I would pay money to get out if I somehow got into a stock car or drag race track. Saturday night is not the night for fighting.

But fire? Fire is my guy thing.

Who ever heard of a bonafide southern boy who hates barbeque?
It's downright un-American, I tell you.

I'm mostly Irish.

We ran out of potatoes and came over here.

I grill quite often in the summer. I don't like using the oven when its in the 90's out. I just sear my steak on both sides anyway. Anything more than blood rare loses flavor and tenderness.

That tip comes from TRHEE, a contributor on AK. You may be familiar with him. (If not, look him up.)

I tried it that way and will not go back.
Interesting. I thought the point of the sear was to seal the meat to preclude any juices from coming out. TRHEE does seem to know his way around a kitchen though.

Having lived in a hot humid climate all my life I have never understood cooking out on the 4th of July. Christmas seems more appropriate.

Where I used to work we had these "Team Days" where we would all go out to some park and have a cook out and then do these really really dumbass "Team Building" exercises.

Anyway they always did them in the goddamned summer, which is about 7 or 8 months long in Central Florida. And it would be hot as Hell and you would sit there with the sweat popping out of your forehead like BB's and running out of your armpits down your sides, while you tried to swat the flies away from your food.

Then one year they scheduled it in November. Now it can be pretty warm in November in Central Florida, but that year a cold front blew in the day before team day and the afternoon high was in the 60's. And everybody remarked how Fucking-A awesome it was and how we should always have team day this time of year.

But next year we had it in August and from then on it went back to always being scheduled in the summer.
